    Independence Day Celebrations: Guwahatians Take Note! Check Traffic Restrictions

    Commercial goods carrying vehicles shall not be allowed to ply on GS Road from Khanapara to Sixmile on August 15th, 2019

    Guwahati, August 14, 2019

    A day ahead of the 73rd Independence Day, the Guwahati Traffic Police has announced that traffic restriction will be in place for the August 15th function at the Khanapara area of the city. In its traffic advisory, the Guwahati Traffic Police said that elaborate traffic arrangements have been made for the celebration of the Independence Day.

    Detailed traffic deployment will be in place to facilitate the movement of VIP vehicles, invitees and the general public to reach the place of function and also to ensure a safe and smooth flow of traffic in other parts of the city.

    During the programme, the movement of all heavy commercial goods carrying vehicles coming towards Guwahati through National Highways 31 and 37 will be regulated as and when necessary in specific points like: Khetri, Sonapur, Byrnihat, Jorabat, Jalukbari, Amingaon and Bongara (city border).

    Commercial goods carrying vehicles shall not be allowed to ply on GS Road from Khanapara to Sixmile on August 15th, 2019.

    Parking will not be allowed the stretch of the National Highway 37 from Koinadhara point to Khanapara rotary; from Koinadhara point to IG Prison office (Assam Rifles building) point; from the AASC Gate to the Research Gate Point and GS Road, B Barooah Road, GNB Road, KLB Road and MG Road.
