Joining BJP Is Like Taking Bath In Ganga: Shiladitya Dev

Hojai lawmaker Shiladitya Dev predicted that Assam will be Congress-free soon. He also asked the Assam Congress to open an office to help Congress workers who want to join BJP.

Bharatiya Janata Party’s Hojai legislator Shiladitya Dev on August 12th, 2019, said that joining BJP from Congress is like taking bath in the holy river Ganga.  “Whoever joins the saffron party from Congress becomes clean from all bad deeds done earlier,” Dev said.

Slamming the Congress, Dev said, “The door is always open in BJP.” He further predicted that Assam will be Congress-free soon. He also asked the Assam Congress to open an office to help Congress workers who want to join BJP. “Still, many from the Congress have been doing contact to join BJP,” Dev added.

Former Rajya Sabha MP from Assam Bhubaneswar Kalita joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on August 9th, 2019. He resigned from the Rajya Sabha and Congress on August 5th, 2019 expressing his dissatisfaction at the party’s stand on Article 370 that gave special status to the Jammu and Kashmir.
